Hopton Boarding Kennels Terms & Conditions
- When booking your dog into a kennel an arranged drop of time must be agreed within the opening times, to ensure smooth transition of your dog into the kennels. Between 9:30am – 11:30am and 4pm _6pm Monday to Saturday 9:30am – 11:30 Sundays.
- Booking in form to be completed on arrival, a note made on kennel white board of any belongings left for the dog(s), leads toys, bedding, etc. which will be returned on departure. We cannot be held responsible for damage/loss of these items, we reserve the right to discard any item due to the health/safety and hygiene condition, all bedding must be suitable dog bedding and not duvets, sleeping bags etc..
- All existing customers please ensure your correct information/contact details are still in place on your dogs previously filled out booking-in forms.
- Proof of Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parvo Virus and Kennel cough vaccines must be seen, and checked they are in date before the dogs can be accepted within the kennels. The proof must stay on the premises and will be ready for collection on the day of the departure.
- Dogs are required to wear a Tagged Collar at all times as part of the animal boarding licence and updated fire procedure plan.
- We reserve the right to move dogs from one kennel to another, for the well-being of your dog and others.
- Any medication required for the dog(s) will be discussed and if agreed added to the booking in form/medication sheet, all medication to be kept in one of our locked numbered medical boxes and stored/given as instructions on the medication sheet.
- All Dog food supplied, to be in adequate container so not to attract vermin with dogs name clearly on.
- All dogs must be in general good health and any conditions or possible expected behaviours explained before leaving the dog, thus reducing the chance of vet intervention with costs to yourself.
- All kennel bookings cancelled require four week notice or face a 100% cancellation fee, new customers are required to leave a 50% minimum deposit.
- Each kennel and isle will be cleaned daily, using a disinfectant suitable for animals. Our supplied bedding and boxes will be washed once a week or on a dog’s departure unless they are needed to be done more due to being soiled or wet.
- Dogs will generally be fed in the mornings and evenings, unless owner’s instructions state otherwise on the booking form. Food and water bowls will be washed out 3 times a day.
- Each dog will be let out for 5 – 10 minutes each morning and night for toileting and have further time out exercising throughout the day, minimum of 20 minutes in the morning, and 20 minutes in the afternoon periods, This will also be done depending on the size and ability of the dog and how much exercise is required.
- If any dog show signs of being under the weather it will be taken into the isolation kennel and monitored and where possible the owner contacted for advice. If there is no improvement a veterinary consultation may be sought at owner expense. If needed an incident report will also be completed for the owner to peruse on collection.
- Any concerns you have regarding your dogs stay, must be reported back to Hopton boarding kennels within 48 hours of leaving our kennels.
- We do not accept aggressive dogs, if a dog does become aggressive every attempt will be made to ensure it’s basic care, but it may not be allowed out for exercise, and could be move to our isolation kennel. We will attempt to contact owner to discuss behavior and may ask for you to arrange collection of your dog and a surcharge of £10.00 per day will apply for isolation kennel.
- If dogs are accepted into our isolation kennel for reasons other than illness/sickness (i.e. other aliments, old age or obtaining proof of vaccinations) there will be an extra £10.00 daily charged.
- If we except dogs into isolation Kennel while proof of vaccinations are obtained, and it is later found vaccinations are out of date, we can take to the vets for vaccinations to be done at owners expense (plus arrangement fee of £35 will apply) or owner can arrange collection. If neither of these are possible other arrangements will be made for the dogs to be collected from our premises.
- Dogs from the same family sharing a kennel do so at owners risk, we cannot be held responsible for any injury caused from one dog to another, and a consent form filled out.
- If a dog has not been collected on the agreed departure date they may be moved into temporary accommodation, freeing up the previously booked kennel space, with an additional £10 per day charge, every effort will be made to contact the owner. However, after seven days if there is still no contact appropriate arrangements will be made for the dogs collection at cost to you.
- In the unlikely event of a dog passing every attempt will be made to contact the owner, if this is not possible our vets will be contacted and arrangements made for collection at cost to you.
- There is a secure fence around the exercise area, however if a dog does escape or escape’s a leaded walk, every effort will be made to find the dog, but we accept no liability if anything happens to the dog.
- We are open for Dogs 365 days of the year, however we do not except any dogs in or out of the kennel block, on Christmas Eve afternoon Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve afternoon, New Year’s Day and Easter Sunday there is also a minimum three day deposit. Three Day deposit also applies to all public Bank holidays.
- We may from time to time close kennel block for maintenance work during quieter times and use isolation kennel.
- Payments must be paid in full either by Cash or Bank transfer before departure,
- We reserve the right to update the terms and conditions as needed.
